“Mavrabeli Sunset Retreat” for rent on the island of Kea.

Kea, also known as Tzia, is one of the closest islands to Athens. There are 4 to 5 ferry boats going to and from the island every day in the summer months. As there are few hotels on the island so mostly private homes are rented out. These homes are mainly built from local stone, giving Kea its unique architecture. The island of Kea is sparsely populated and has been called the Hidden Gem of the Cycladic islands, so ideal for those that want to have a relaxing holiday.

The villa is built in the area of Mavrabeli, in a quiet secluded area, 5.5 kilometers from the port of Kea, 500 meters of which is a dirt road and a 15 minutes car ride in total. A 4 X 4 is highly recommended. The villa, which is 175 square meters, is set on a 24,000 square meter plot of land.

“Mavrabeli Sunset Retreat” has been built to the highest standards and offers amazing sea and sunset views , as well as complete privacy.

Outside the villa there is a large terrace with a BBQ and wood oven, covered with a pergola. Beneath the pergola is a dining area for 8 people.  To the side of the villa there is a seating area with a sofa, armchair, 2 chairs and an umbrella, where one can sit and enjoy the sea view and amazing sunsets. On the lower level of the garden there are some Pomegranate trees, as well as Pear trees, Quince trees, Olive trees, Fig trees, Grape Vines and some Pine trees.

The villa is on 2 levels. The ground level has a large living room with a fireplace, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with bar stools. Leading off the kitchen is a small alcove, part of the original house built in 1890, with a stone built fireplace where they used to cook the family meals.

Near the kitchen is the main bedroom, again part of the original house, with a double bed (1.60 X 2.00). Close to the dining area is a second bedroom with a double bed (1.40 X 2.00) and a bathroom with a shower shared by the 2 bedrooms.

Outside there are stairs leading down to the lower garden and the guest house, which has a large bedroom (1.60 x 2.00 bed), with an original stone fireplace also used for cooking. Opposite the bedroom there is a bathroom with a shower.

House Rules: No parties or events, smoking outside only, pets upon request. Minimum stay March, April, May and October 3 nights, June and September 4 nights, July and August 5 nights. Check-in after 3pm, check-out by 11am. Damage Guarantee 450 euro. One off cleaning fee 50 euro.

Discounts: 5% discount for stays over 7 nights, 10% discount for stay over 28 nights.
